Gold Particles Under Magnification

Over the past few years, nanotechnology has lead to some pretty exciting developments in the clothing industry. For example, we’ve seen (and written about) a range of stylish fabrics which incorporate nanofibers designed to fight disease, reduce odor, and generate electricity. But what have these space-age fabrics lacked so far? Gold! Read More

Bow Tie For Men

Men's Shirts From Paris Fashion Week 2010

In some of our previous posts, we’ve mentioned a few of the ways men’s fashion has become more (stereotypically) feminine recently – the acceptance of pink as a man’s color, the rise of the ¾ sleeve shirt, and the spread of floral prints. Guys’ clothing changes slowly and, to some degree, it makes sense that men’s and women’s fashion should, according to Dior creative director John Galliano, “cross-pollinate and inspire each other.” But, if some of the designs we saw at this year’s Paris Fashion Week make their way to the masses, the difference between male and female clothing may soon become nonexistent. World's Most Expensive Suit

Oh, the things rich people buy. Back in 2009, we read an article in the Telegraph about what was called “the world’s most expensive suit” – a £70,000 ($105,000) Alexander Amosu bespoke made with vicuna/muskox wool blended with pashmina. It caused quite a stir last year in the exclusive world of London gentlemen’s fashion, both because of its price and the workmanship involved in making it. But the new winner for the world’s priciest suit prize is threatening to make Mr. Amosu’s creation look like the rags of a hobo in comparison. Read More

If you’re a chronic perspirer who still needs to wear a suit to work even when the heat is on, you probably know all too well that a few swipes of Old Spice isn’t enough sometimes. Read More
